In 1960, Fathi Chatila graduated from the
University of Miami, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. He joined
the Ministry of Water and Electricity in 1961 and then the UNDP team overtaking
the Hydro-Geological Studies for Lebanon where he studied of the interior
basics, namely Litani, Hasbani, and Orontes.
In 1970, Mr. Chatila joined a newly formed department in the ministry known as
“Geology and Hydrology”. In 1977, Mr. Chatila resigned from his post to start
his dream project with his wife Mona and voyage new waters: publishing Arab
Water World (AWW) magazine. The first issue came into being in January 1977.
AWW magazine was being published in a bilingual English-Arabic format six times
a year at that time.
Since then, Mr. Chatila has published several other magazines, directories, and
other MEDIA related to other industries.
